  1. I absolutely love Brasil, but I don't know if it would be the best idea with children, however that depends on their ages. I went to Brasil for the 16th Birthday, and fell in love with it. Hope this helps!

  2. There's no reason why you would have any more trouble traveling in Brazil with kids than in sundry other places. In fact there are some places that are great for kids. Paraty, for example, is an old colonial town on the coast between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The downtown cobblestone streets are closed to automobiles, so you don't have to worry about the kids getting run over by a truck.

But that's just one example. There are lots of interesting kid-friendly destinations. Brazil offers just about everything you'd want except winter sports, so the first thing is to decide what you want to do. Then you should do some research to discover what places are best for your desired activities.

  3. yes.. carmen shouldn't speak if she's never even been to brazil ..

i've never had any problems.. just use caution like u would in any city.

i agree.. Natal .. Fortaleza .. Bahia are beautiful areas to visit.. and kid friendly..  so is the very southern region.. such as Santa Catrina..

    Boa Sorte

  4. Holiday in Brazil can be a great option. As i don´t know when do you intend to visit i send some tips for differents areas and time.

Northest of Brazil: That region to be located the best beaches in Brazil. States of Pernambuco, Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte offers lots of alterantive for you and your children. Summer happens among sept. and Feb. and winter happens from may to ago.

Pernambuco is one of the most culture states of Brazil. You can find and learn about frevo and Maracatu as well as have the opportunity to visit some cities as Gravata, Bezerro e Caruaru where you find lots of handcrafts. Close to Recife, the Capital, to be Olinda - thsi city belongs the UNESCO as patrimony of the world.

Just find more information in sites as: Embratur - the official site of tourism im Brazil; Empetur - the offical site of tourism in Pernambuco; http://www.recifeguide.com/  - This site have lots of information about Recife and region (Recife is capital of the state of Pernambuco). This site have information in English.

  5. if u do go to brazil just b very very careful, especially with ur children! my father used to travel there a lot n i have heard some bad stories about the crime and corruption. a girl i knew who went there as an exchange student from the usa was kidnapped out of her host family's home and held for ransom, which i hear happens quite a lot. everything turned out ok, and she was able to come home unharmed. dont get me wrong though, ive known all of my father's brazilian friends, and they are very loving and fun people that really know how to party! in the trips my dad took there he said  was there he said the pickpocketing was really bad, so id say look into getting something that u wear under ur clothes that holds ur money and looks like u dont have it on. i also hear there is a lot of carjacking, so always lock ur doors if u rent a car. dont carry all of ur money on u at once. do what u can to not look like a tourist. stay aware of ur surroundings and learn portuguese as well as u can so u are able to understand what is being said around u. good luck!

  6. I am a Brazilian. What that girl said I thought was very negative. Every country has problems, has crimes, has corruption. Even in the USA. When you travel you have to have common sense obviously, but I thought she emphasize all the negative like the country is all bad. I would recommend you location such as North of Brazil. Places like Natal, Fortaleza, Bahia, Porto Seguro, Recife, Fernando the Noronha. You can have a little of everything. Gorgeous beaches, cultural locations to go, crafts done by the locals. Those places are good places to go with your family. Stay away from this time of the year because of the carnival. This time you are not going to find reasonable prices. Go around April, May, June. The prices will be better. Most of those places people speak English. The staff at any hotel will be able to help you. Just in  case get one of those books that any bookstore sells with some grammar sentences, so you will feel more comfortable. Again, use common sense, do not carry all your money, do not carry all your documents, do not stay late at night in places you do not know. Those things you do anywhere even in the USA. email me if you have more questions
