Brazil Telephone Numbers?

Dear Sir,

There are few fixed line telecom operators in Brazil. i.e. Embratel, Brazil Telecom etc.

Now my question is, from a Brazil Geographic telephone number, how do we find the operator to which this telephone number is belongs to?

in other word, how to find the operator from a telephone number in brazil.

(Qutsion Not related to mobile phone operators. only fixed line operators.)

hm... I'm not sure I understand your question... but I think it's geographical, so if you're in Sao Paulo (state) it's Telefonica, if you're in any other state it's Oi (who just bought Brasil Telecom and is now the largest phone operator in Brazil).
