When I entered Brazil from Colombia, I got a 30-day visa (entry stamp) in my passport. I got it on the 12th of March. Do I start counting the 30 days on the 12th, or on the 13th? Meaning, do I have to leave Brazil on April 10th, or 11th? What happens if I leave a day late?

  1. If in doubt head for a police station and have them extend your visa--very simple procedure.

  2. im pretty sure u leave on the 30th day, leaving a day late might get you into some problems at the airport u might have to reschedule your flight. u start counting the day that u get there.

  3. You start counting from the day you arrived, so that would be the 12th.  I can get a 90 day visa to visit Brasil.  I thought all countries in South America would have that too, but obviously not.
