Brazil international Kaka linked to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AS-Real-c38478 Madrid sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin
The rumors of Real Madrid midfielder Kaka making a move to Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window have intensified after a post by the player’s mother on the social networking website, Twitter.
Kaka’s mother post read, “We are going to be in London next season where we will be preaching the word of God. We will be there from August - I can tell you.”
The 29-year-old was previously linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in 2009 but the deal never went through as the Brazilian midfielder signed with La Liga giants Real Madrid instead.
Kaka joined Real Madrid for an astronomical fee of £59 million from Serie A side AC Milan, instead of reuniting with Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge.
According to recent reports he could be heading to the London side at the end of this season. Apart from the midfielder’s mother’s comments on Twitter, there are other indications that he will be leaving Madrid in the summer.
His time with the La Liga giants has been tainted with a chronic injury, which has kept him out for the better part of this season, his second with the club.
After just a year with Madrid, Kaka had to undergo surgery on his left knee, the recovery for which kept him out for four months.
In his first season with Madrid, Kaka made a total of 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring 9 goals and making 8 assists.
His second season has not been as successful; with the four month lay-off the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international has only been able to make 18 appearances this season.
Despite the lengthy period on the sidelines, the 29-year-old still managed to find the back of the net 7 times and provide 4 assists.
Kaka would have preferred to stay at Madrid, not having expressed his desire for a move away previously. It seems he may be forced to make other arrangements, seeing as Madrid have done the same.
Real Madrid recently confirmed signing 22-year-old Turkish midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuri-Sahin-c28251 on a long term deal, which means there will no room for Kaka in the squad.
The former Borussia Dortmund player was an important part of the Bundesliga side, having started 33 matches out of 34 this season.
He scored four goals and made eight assists to help Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title, which is why the La Liga giants have signed the player on a five year deal.
Sahin’s arrival has only sparked rumors of Kaka’s departure and up until now his likely destination seems to be like Chelsea, with the club reportedly willing to pay as much as £30 million for him.
Madrid seem to be on the better end of the deal, as they look to be making easy money for a player who will be 30 years old next year and has recently been injury prone.
If he does indeed join Chelsea as the recent rumors suggest, there is no guarantee Kaka will regain his form and become a world class player once again.
However, there is a slight possibility of that happening as long as Carlo Ancelotti remains manager at the London club.
The Italian manager has previously coached Kaka at AC Milan and could be a few of the manager’s who know how to get the best out of the player.
