In a surprising turn of events, the Olympique Lyonnais winger’s long-awaited move to the Middle-Eastern side has broken down which is a disappointing news for the Rhone club
Only yesterday, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 in the past and it appeared that the former LOSC Lille star will secure a move
to the Middle Eastern club.
The winger was even given a lucrative contract by the UAE giants. However, despite the player agreeing on personal terms, it appears that Les Gones were not really happy with how much http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Al-Ain-c38290 wanted to give for the player.
While talking to L’Equipe, the Rhone club’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas said, “We did not agree on the modalities of the transfer.”
Reports claim that the residents of Stade de Gerland want at least 10 million euros for the star winger and had even offered Al-Ain to pay in two instalments. However, nothing was done about it which means that the move has almost fallen into water.
However, the decision is not final according to Aulas who feels that a last minute change of plans can’t be ruled out. Lyon are in dire need of cash and will certainly reconsider their stance on Bastos.
However, it appears that Aulas knows the value of Bastos who he considers as one of the best players in Ligue 1.
“I do not regret it. When Bastos is in shape, he is one of the best players of the Championnat,” dropped Aulas while talking to Progress.
Lyon are desperate to free up some cash and with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kim-c20955 Kallstrom and Bafetimbi Gomis all linked with moves away from the club, Lyon’s transfer window may begin soon.
While waiting to see what the future holds for him, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canada-c748 to linkup with his teammates who are preparing for the Trophée des Champions in which they take on reigning Ligue 1 champions Montpellier
