Brazil legend tips Neymar to become huge star in Europe
Brazil legend Carlos Alberto says that youngster Neymar da Silva Santos Junior has all the required tools in his locker to become a huge success with a top club in Europe.
The 18-year-old, who is currently plying his trade for Santos in his homeland, was on the verge of a move to English Premier League champions Chelsea but the deal fell through.
He has also strongly been linked with moves to La Liga giants Real Madrid and Italian powerhouse Juventus in recent months, but is under contract at Santos until 2015.
However, the Brazil international revealed that he could be ready to make his mark away from South America and Alberto, who helped Brazil win the 1970 FIFA World Cup, insists that the talented striker is ready to make an impact in Europe.
According to The Guardian, Alberto said that: "Neymar is the best Brazilian player in the last five years. He's already ready to be a big star in Europe in my opinion. Sometimes he can be a bit crazy but Neymar can be the best in the world, in two or three
years time he can be there."
Since making the breakthrough to the Santos first team in 2009, Neymar has established himself as an important player for his club.
Despite his tender years, he has played 105 games already across all competitions at senior level and has scored 52 goals. He won both the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil competitions with Santos in 2010.
His strong record at club level led to him receiving a call-up to the Brazil national team in July 2010 by head coach Mano Menezes for a friendly game against the United States in August. The forward marked his international debut by scoring the opening goal
in a 2-0 win.
