Brazilian Liga: Atlético Atlético Mineiro G 2 - 1 Corinthians SP Fulltime Analysis (Part 1)
The match occurred at Mineirao, Belo Horizonte, which is the home ground of Atlético Minieiro G. The match started around 1:00 GMT and was refereed by Evandro Roman.
Both clubs were strong competitors to establish themselves as the top dogs of the upper half of the table and though they did manage to accomplish that last season, nonetheless their performance was under par.
In 2009-10, Atlético Minieiro finished at the 7th position in Futebol Brasileirao. Their performance has been improving over the past seasons and as more cash flows into the club, their performance
has improved too.
In 2007-08 Atlético Minieiro accumulated 55 points with 15 wins and in the following they performed poorly with just 48 points and 12 victories. In 2009-10 they won 16 matches and gained 56 points.
Corinthians SP too were a major disappointment last season as they finished at the 10th position. In 2007-08 the Corinthians won just 10 matches and made 44 points. Last season their performance was
somewhat better as they won 14 matches and produced 52 points.

The match started with a whistle from Evandro Roman and immediately a heated battle began in the midfield. In the 10thminute Dentinho (Atlético Minieiro) seemed to have injured himself and therefore had to be taken
off and was replaced with Danilo (Atlético Minieiro).
After that, the heated battle between both teams continued as they sought to make plays from the midfield and head towards the centre of the box to score a goal.
This clash was spread to the wings by the first quarter of the game and there were some brilliant crosses flying in from the flanks. In the 34th minute Danilo (Corinthians SP) had to stop a play and
came up with an overly aggressive tackle and that got him the first yellow card of the game.
In the 38th minute the 2nd substitution of the match took place as Renan Oliveira (Atlético Mineiro) came on for Ricardinho (Atlético Mineiro). After the substitution it seemed
that Atlético were unable to control the midfield as the passing became far too easy.
