Internacional's midfielder Oscar has gone on to confirm that Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in signing the player, but has played down talks linking him with a move away from Brazil.
Ever since Andre Villas-Boas arrived at Tottenham, the North London outfit have been unusually active in the transfer market. Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 suggest that Villas-Boas has been granted a transfer kitty of £70 million by the Tottenham board, and if the
sales of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 and Rafael Van Der Vaart go through, this amount is set to increase.
Club chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy has displayed a public vote of confidence in the Portuguese manager and has backed him up to be a hit at the club.
Tottenham have already acquired Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson from German outfit Hoffenheim and are currently in pursuit of Porto’s Brazilian striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 has also
been linked with the team.
The Brazilian playmaker is regarded as one of the best young attacking talents in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 and has caught the eye of many European clubs. He was recently named in Brazil’s Olympic squad for the London games, which are set to take place next month.
Andre Villas-Boas has identified Oscar as one of his transfer targets as he hopes to assemble a new look Spurs squad for next season.
Oscar revealed earlier that Tottenham have approached his agent, but he also cooled down any transfer speculation linking him with a move to North London by stating that he is currently focused on Internacional.
"Tottenham did contact my agent, but I am focusing on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573," Oscar told a magazine."
Speaking to another magazine, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oscar-c28720 said:
"That [interest will always happen]. I don't know if there was an official offer.”
"But for those that are young and impress a bit, this is normal. I can't worry about this. I'm not thinking about leaving Internacional now".
Oscar was quick to play down any rumours and said that he was not aware if the offer was official or not. However, reports and rumours suggest that there is a huge possibility that the Brazilian will be sporting a white kit and playing for the North London
club come next season.
