  1. My boyfriend is from Brazil, and I know that his family is very close.  He told me that Family is the most important thing in life to them.  I can tell too.  He calls his parents on a regular basis and loves visiting with the rest of his family that lives out of state.

  2. As in any Latin American country, family values are still important. Brasilians respect these values, respect their elders and take care of thier young ones. My uncle (dad's brother) lived there with his wife and three kids, I visited often and I saw a close knit culture with great family values. It is quite often that we see grandpas and grandmas taking care of their grandchildren while the mums and dads go out to work, therefore the children grow up respecting their elders and learning from them.

  3. Depends where in Brazil are you speaking of. Large cities are more liberal than small ones. As south as you go, the more liberal, and as close to sea as well.

Generally speaking, Brazil is more liberal than other countries in Latin America, but is more conservative than USA and West/North Europe.
