Brazilian star Murilo speaks about 2011 FIVB World League
As the premier men’s volleyball competition the 2011 FIVB World League is approaching near, the excitement is rising high.
It is less than two weeks’ time that the thrilling action of 2011 FIVB World League will hit the town. In accordance with the FIVB World Tour Calendar, the World League will take place from May 27 to July 10. The participants of the competition, 16 best
teams of the world, are going to battle for supremacy.
Brazil is the top contender and among the pre-favourites of the tournament. The Brazilian team has the firm determination to add another gold-medal to their count this year. The team is enjoying a top form right now and players like Murilo Endres are up
to rock the podium.
Murilo is 30-year-old wing-spiker in the Brazilian team, who is considered a very good player. He settled for the position of “Most Valuable Player” during the last edition of the championship.
Murilo described the history of the event. He recapped their performance in the previous editions of the championship and said that Brazil has finished on the podium seven times in last eight appearances. He disclosed the secret of success that Brazilian
squad puts mind, body and soul in their game. He stated that they reached the level due to the fact that they practiced very hard.
Brazil has been placed in Pool A along with teams from United States, Puerto Rico and Poland. The Brazilian squad will be challenged by Puerto Rico in the first round of the championship. Speaking of the first encounter with Puerto Rico, Murilo said that
Puerto Rican side will be featured in the World League competition for the first time and they will put all their efforts to cash the opportunity. The Brazilian squad, in his opinion, should formulate fitting game plan to tackle the dangerous Puerto Rican
Team.
Murilo also had his say about the other pool members. He said, Poland is already confirmed for the final round, so they will be playing under no pressure. The preliminary robin round matches will help them gain confidence and experience for the tough competitions
in the final phase of the championship. He openly acknowledged that United States always has a strong line-up. Although they are currently facing problems replacing Lloy Ball but the American will do well in the 2011 FIVB World League.
Brazil has high hope to demonstrate a memorable performance and maintain their dominance in the game.
