The Bordeaux man has spent almost five years at the Stade Chaban Delmas and feels that the time is right for him to move onto a new footballing challenge in his playing career
After spending almost five years at Ligue 1 outfit FC Girondins de Bordeaux, the Aquitaine club’s striker, Jussie has voiced his desire to leave the club in the near future. The 29-year-old feels that the time is right for his to move on to another club
in another league for the sake of a fresh challenge.
His talent has always matched by his inconsistency. With Jussie, it’s all or nothing. Able to win a game single-handedly or almost spend the entire game as a ghost, the Brazilian is having by far his most successful season with Bordeaux for now.
With five goals in all competitions, including four in the Europa League, the 29-year-old has formed a great offensive pairing with another on-song striker in Yoann Gouffran. While talking to reporters regarding his current form, Jussie said that unlike
previous seasons, he is not injured which is why his performances have improved considerably.
“I’m not injured, unlike previous years and I can say I feel good,” says the former Lens star.
However, it now appears that the striker might not be willing to extend his stay at Stade Chaban Delmas after nearly six years of loyal surface. With the winter transfer window just around the corner, the Brazilian says that although he is not sure what
will happen in the future, it is his desire to experience something new.
“Yes, there is a desire. But we do not know what will happen. If this does not happen in the winter Mercato, it might at the end of the season in June. I am not the master of my future.”
However, the striker has said that he does not wish to leave the club because he has some problems with the people here.
“All is well with Les Girondins. This is a great club but I’ve been wanting to experience something else for a while. Before that, I’d like to win titles and leave Bordeaux at a good level.”
Under contract until June 2014, the Brazilian’s replacement search should be starting anytime now.
