Breached passport files?

Question

Mmk...I realize the canidates are public figures and at times their lives could be in danger. My question is....why is it such a big deal that their passport info was viewed? Isn't the info on the actual passport itself? You hand your passport over to a flight attendant on a international trip so the attendant could easily see the info...OR is there other things about the canidates in te computer that could cause harm to one of them? Or is it mainly just a privacy issue?

I'm sure those are prob dumb questions but i'm curious

It is a privacy issue. Unfortunately there are people who try to use private governmental files for partisan political purposes. The "Chief of Security" at the White House in the previous administration managed to get hundreds of FBI files sent by courier to his office. His excuse was they were needed to check out people who had applied for jobs in the Executive Officer of the President or who currently worked there.

I had never applied for such a job. I had never held such a job. Yet, my FBI file was among the pile. I did write a letter to President Clinton which was highly critical of one of his policy proposals. Maybe that was the reason.

Obama was thought to be involved in some sort of scam to obtain an entry visa for the international crook behind his bag man Rezko.  His name is Nadhmi Auchi and he is seriously bad news. There was an international warrant out for his arrest and he was hiding out in London. What a surprise!

It's a privacy issue and the fact that most of the employees there are probably republican doesn't make it look good. The RNC is KNOWN for dirty tricks all the way back to Watergate and W's administration and Condy Rice's State Department doesn't have alot of credibility at the moment. She blew it with 9/11 now she's allowed State Department employees to break privacy laws. Not looking good here Condy.
