  1. Gelatin is definitely not vegan. And that stuff is in everything! I have to be so careful when I go shopping. I didn't know about the gelatin thing for some time and was literally eating a marshmallow when I discovered what it really was. Needless to say I got sick and can never look at marshmallows in the same way. LOL

    Yucky gelatin.

  2. any type of gelatin is animal derived.

if you can find the kellogg's ORGANIC frosted mini-wheats, they do not contain gelatin and are vegetarian and vegan friendly....and they're just as good =)

  3. this is all im going to say: Gelatin is horse tissue

  4. Gelatin means gelatin and that is from hooves and snouts and ears. So yes, it is from animal sources and should be avoided.

  5. Gelatin is always animal derived. (There are of course other gelling agents available, which are vegetarian - such as pectin and agar-agar) Strange that they put gelatin in breakfast cereal, though!

  6. Its not vegan.

Gelatin is grounded up animal bones.

    yuck.

  7. Gelatin is always animal derived.  There are alternative, plant-based thickeners, but they will never be listed in the ingredients as gelatin.  Nothing listing gelatin is vegetarian or vegan friendly.

The organic frosted mini wheats are gelatin free.

  8. Yes. It if from the tendons of animals. And beware of kosher gelatin- it is from fish. Agar-Agar is a vegan gelatin and it might be one of the only ones.

  9. Yes, geletin is an animal slaughter by-product.

veggie versions of thickeners and bonding agensts are not referred to as "geletin".  Veggies ones are referred to as pectin, agar agar or somethng else, but never geletin.

  10. this stuff is made from animal bones and things like that  most  pudding and jello are made from gelatin..

  15. That's right, it is not vegan friendly.  Gelatin is an animal product, always (even kosher gelatin or k-gelatin).

If you LOVE frosted mini wheats (like I do) you will need to settle for honey nut shredded wheat, unless you can find the organic frosted mini wheats.
