  1. Have a coffee bar!  Let people make their own coffee w/ flavored syrups, half & half, cinnamon, cocoa, whipped cream, and so on.  Also serve milk and OJ.

Do a Breakfast Egg or Potato Casserole, a fresh fruit mix, maybe some Blueberry or other flavor muffins, and birthday cake for desert.

    Sausage Breakfast Casserole

1 lb. breakfast sausage, browned and crumbled (chopped ham is good, too)

    12 eggs

    2 cups milk

    2 tsp. salt

    1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

    2 tsp. dry mustard

6 cups cubed, stale French or Sourdough Bread

Place cooked sausage on the bottom of a greased 9" x 13" baking dish.  Add bread evenly on top.  Beat eggs, milk, and seasonings. Pour over sausage and bread. Sprinkle cheese on top.  Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Before baking, press bread down gently into casserole dish.  Bake 350º for 50 minutes or until light golden brown and set in center. Serves 8.

    Farmer's Brunch Casserole

3 cups shredded hash browns or sliced potatoes

3/4 cup (3 oz.) shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese

1 cup diced fully cooked ham

¼ cup sliced green onions with tops

    4 beaten eggs

    1½ cups milk

    ¼ tsp. pepper

Optional ingredients:  Sliced fresh mushrooms or diced green bellpeppers

Preheat oven to 350°. Spray 2 quart baking dish / pie plate with nonstick spray. Arrange

potatoes evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese, ham and green onions.

Combine milk, eggs and pepper. Pour over potato mixture.  Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until center appears set. Let stand for 5 min. before slicing.

  5. The coffee bar sounded good.

If you have a good quality waffle iron (the kind like the restaurants have for people to make their own) - it is a big hit. The waffle mix can be made in advance. You can get different types of syrup, have different toppings - choc. chips, blueberries, strawberries, whipped topping, etc. Everytime we make them at home, the EVERYONE loves them. In fact we don't call them waffles - we call them wexcellents because they taste so excellent.

  6. Well milk and juice.I would say for food, scrambled eggs, omelettes, homemade donuts, bacon, and sausages!I dont know what the weather is like, but if you know then if its windy indoors and if its nice outdoors!

  7. If it is Autumn weather I would have it indoors. I would say either simple( muffins, donuts, sweet breads, oj, milk) or nice( eggs, bacon, pancakes, )  You could have everyone wear PJs (LOL). Just have a relaxing time and enjoy yourself. My family has a tradition for July 4. We invite lots of friends neighbors and family and people bring  some things for breakfast outside.  Happy Birthday!!

  8. gotta be outside for a start...light up the bbq stack on some bacon...sausages...fried eggs...toms cut in half...garlic bread from the oven...mushroom sauteed off in another pan inside and oh u gotta have baked beans....jugs of different juices with lemonade in each and a stick of celery popping out to stir...Im an aussie and this will go down well...and oh you gotta have chocolate cake for dessert....

  9. These are my two favorite breakfast recipes for a group of people.  I have made these for guests many times and everyone loves them.

    Baked French Toast Casserole

Recipe by Paula Deen (with slight modifications)

1 loaf French bread (13 to 16 ounces) – best to use day old bread

    8 large eggs

    2 cups half-and-half

    1 cup milk

    2 tablespoons granulated sugar

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    Dash salt

    Praline Topping:

    1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter

1 cup packed light brown sugar

    1 cup chopped pecans

    2 tablespoons light corn syrup

    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Slice French bread into 20 slices, 1-inch each.

Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9 by 13-inch flat baking dish in 2 rows.

In a large bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and beat with a rotary beater or whisk until blended but not too bubbly.

Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly with the milk-egg mixture. Spoon some of the mixture in between the slices. Have the liquid come up to ½ or ¾ of the side of the bread.  (You only need about half of all the mixture.)

Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine all ingredients for the praline topping in a medium bowl and blend well.  Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes uncovered, until puffed and lightly golden.

  10. What a great idea! Make fake mimosas with OJ and sprite (instead of champagne) and virgin bloody mary's. I think it would be fun to just have an omelet bar - have a ton of different ingredients (ham chunks, sliced bell peppers, sliced onions, mushrooms, diced tomatoes and some different cheeses), then have a bunch of ziploc bags and have everyone make their own...

Have your guests write their name on a quart-size ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.

Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.

Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, bacon, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, etc.

everyone adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.

Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelettes in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water.

Open the bags and the omelette will roll out easily.

Fun and easy! You can have baking sheets of bacon and sausage ready to go, too - and some hash browns and toast to really top it all off!

  11. Make stuff that can sit on the table for a little while and will still taste good at room temperature. A fritatta is really easy, eggs, veggies, cheese, whatever is around and keeps well. Scrambled eggs & friend eggs don't hold well. Something sweet, something salty, and good bread is all you really need besides Coffee and juice. Happy Birthday!

  12. have it at IHOP or the pancake house or dennys
