(Breaking Dawn) Biologically speaking, how can a vampire and a human have a kid?

Stephenie Meyer went against everything she ever said by putting Nessie in the picture, aren't Vampires frozen in time? They have no biological clock.

well like bella had thought of she said that the women goes through many changes in her life. (body wise) and that a guy doesnt really... (somewhere is breaking dawn she says this) so since bella was still changing and edward had never changed to begin with they had a kid..he still had sperm.. cuz guys have sperm from the time they are born..

well according to her, venom works as spern which doesn't really make any sense to me. the venom fertilizes the egg? i don't get it.

Didn't you read the book, it explains it.  Women can't cuz they're frozen, and need to change, but men can reproduce at any age, nothing physically changes in them.

Besides, it is a fantasy book

Sigh. This question has already been asked (a lot) and answered (a lot) so next time search it BEFORE reposting the same question!! Plus you put a spoiler in the title - that's mean to the people that haven't read the book yet.

Meyer never said a human couldn't have a half-breed vamp-human child. That was always an unknown. Plus it's fiction honey so new things can get made by the author whenever the mood hits her.

Bella was a human when she was knocked up by Edward. Nessie could and did happen. Get over it. Plus I saw it coming. Jacob had to imprint on somebody like Bella - enter her daughter.

When you write a vampire book you can choose what happens - till then you will have to deal with these new facts.

hellooo... the human does !!! =D the human has a biological clock !! =) .. and edward is still a guy.. and guys can virtually help consive a baby.. till they're like really old.. and edward was frozen as a teen.. therefore .. very cabable of consieving a child

she kinda explained it. women's bodies have to change have kids were as men's bodies stay the same through out their lives. so because bella was still human her body was able to change to support the child she was able to have the baby.

you see edward is a vampire and bella is human they had s*x so she got pregnant. plus woman who are human can have babie's woman who are vampires dont change thus they are frozen in time so then they don't have their perion or ovulate so they can't reproduce. men who either way vampire or not they don't change so they can reproduce. It seems like it can't happen but the author said that not many vampires do that to mortal woman so therefore not many kids like Reenesme are born hope it helps =)

In human biology, it is the male sperm which is supposed to determine whether it will be a boy or girl.  That doesn't mean that the male sperm determines everything about the child, for some kids look more like their mother than father.  So a vampire's sperm would have to be human enough (since a vampire WAS a human at one time) to allow fertilization of the human female's egg, since normally in nature, two separate species cannot fertilize one another.  So if the vampire sperm will fertilize human eggs, then the vampire didn't change that much away from being human.  Just enough for the obvious physical changes, which didn't change enough in the reproductive system.

ok well it never said vampires and humans couldent have kids. If a vampire has sperm in him still then he can get a human pregnent but 2 vamps cant have kids becuase they never change
