Breaking Dawn Question- Do you think Stephanie left the Volturi alive so she could write a sequel someday?

Wishful thinking, I know. I can't see any other reason why she didn't kill them all off in the book. Now Charlie is in danger because Aro touched Edward (and read his mind) and Charlie knows what the Cullens are (more or less.) Do you think she'll write more about this story, even if not through Bella's perspective?

definitely. especially since its going to be in nessie's perspective. but we wont hear bout that for a while. first she is doing edward's pov. then she is doing her host series. then a ghost series. then a MERMAID series.... THEN shes doing nessies pov. :) so not for a few years depending on how far she goes with edward :)

she said that breaking dawn would be most likely the last in the series, but she IS writing another book that will be a companion to twilight. it will be called 'midnight sun' and it will be twilight from edward's perspective. she said she might do it from alice's and jaspers too, i think.

i TOTALLY wish the story would continue!

i never really thought about but ya thats a good point. i was thinking about why they didn't get mad about charlie. i think using the volturi would be good for a sequel

I don't think so. I think she left them alive because, well, they might have killed a lot of Bella's allies before they got taken down. Even with Bella's "talent" she couldn't realistically protect everyone as well as herself from complete harm. Stephenie probably just wanted to create suspense without injuring any major characters. And, if you recall, the Volturi need to exist to stop things like the newborn vampire wars from ever happening again.

Also, it was addressed in the book that Charlie is in no vampire because he does not know that the Cullen's are vampires. He merely knows of the existence of werewolves and that Bella is somehow different than before.

she left the volturi alive because she wanted a happy ending, not because she is continuing the series. If the Cullens did fight the Volturi, they had a small chance of winning. And if they did defeat the Volturi, they still would have lost many lives. And thats just not the ending stephenie was looking for. She didn't want any of the Cullens to die.

If she does continue the series, it won't be from bella's point of view. She said it would be from renesmee or leahs point of view.

Possibly but I doubt it. I guess I just think that she has tied up the end of the story that could literally go on forever and I don't think she will want to untie all of the ends.

I wish they could go on forever in a way but keeping them short and tying the ends is the best way to keep us thinking about the story long after it has ended.

No. She's made it explicitly clear that Breaking Dawn is her fourth and final installment of the Twilight series. Honestly, even if she was planning on doing a fifth, i really doubt it'd get accepted. Most people hated Breaking Dawn. Plus, she left WAY too many loose ends. More than she could ever pray to tie up in just one other book...especially if it's one that isn't likely to sell.

For the sake of her career, she'd better not.

Bella's story is done, sadly if a sequel does happen, it will not be from Bella's perspective. It will be about Renesmee and Jacob, again, sadly. In an interview Stephenie said the reason the fight didn't happen was because there wouldn't have been many Cullen's [or friends] left after-wards, even if they had defeated the Volturi. I thought the same thing before I read that, but I imagine it does help, them being alive. They will defiantly be a part of the next, if any, books.

Well she's SUPPOSE to be finishing Midnight Sun. She better or I'm going to be pissed.

But that would be awesome if she wrote another sequel. It makes sense though when you put it that way. I don't see why not.

I think she left a lot of open options with; the Volturi alive, their lust for power, the desire of Aro and the new species of Hybrids, a curiosity about Shapeshifters, Jake and Renessmes imprinting. She did say this would be the last of this series, but she is writing a book from Edwards perspective... Maybe in the future is a book from Renessmes perspective... There is a possible future for all. Immortallity gives you many options.

I was thinking the same thing the other day! I mean, I thought that Edward and the group would defeat the Volturi and live happily ever after. I hope she does! I am a huge fan! I can't wait for Midnight sun, the book on Edwards point of view instead of Bellas. Also, I can't wait until the movie!!! Lol Only 116 more days.

No I don't think she did that puroposely. But I totally agree, it is wishful thinking. In my opinion I don' t think Charlie knows a thing about the Cullens being vampires and the Volturi could care less if he knew about werewolves. So as long as the vampire secret is still kept away from Charlie he is not in much danger.

I don't know.  I don't really hope that she does or anything, but it annoys me that the Volturi are still alive!  Nothing was resolved in Breaking Dawn!  Yeah, Bella is a vampire now and the Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle is all better, but what about the big picture?  The Volturi were deterred for the time being, but that's all.  Everyone is still in danger.

I don't think she has an intention of writing a sequel, but I think it's really crappy how unresolved everything was.

i think she didnt want the big fight because (just a thought) you cant really write a squel when most of the ppl are dead if she does do a sequel i hope its from some else's prespetive like Midnight Sun
