Breaking EPL News: Arsene Wenger confirms Cecs Fabregas’ commitment to Arsenal
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has emphatically stated that the world class Spanish midfielder Cecs Fabregas is focused on winning the EPL title this season with Arsenal.
He stated that Arsenal desperately need to increase silverware on their trophy case, their last was in 2005 when they won the FA Cup. He stated that the key to winning titles and trophies is Fabregas and if he is at his usual starry performance then he could guarantee Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season.
The French manager relayed that he had talked to Fabregas who confirmed that he was focused on his performance and was concentrating on each one of Arsenal’s games.
The Frenchman gave the skipper his first chance to play for the North Londoners since his vacations from the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa. In the match against Blackpool, Fabregas came in with about 30 minutes remaining on the clock.
By the end of the match the score line of 6-0 showed Arsenal thrashing Blackpool. Wenger had not played Fabregas because he did not want the player to be injured or exhausted.
Early in the summer, Fabregas was on the verge of a probable move to Barcelona, but he met resistance in the form of the Arsenal board and Wenger as they told him he still had a holding contract with them, so unless Barcelona was offering them their desired amount for him and till they had found a replacement for the star midfielder, Fabregas could not leave the club.
The situation got pretty tense in the end between the player and manager but eventually it was resolved as the two men sat down and had a long talk. Wenger has stated that Arsenal have a strong chance of winning the EPL title this season and with star signings along with their top players being in good form they certainly are looking like worthy contenders for taking away English glory.
Wenger told the media that, “We want to focus now on our season. Cesc really wants to win and he is completely focused. If you see how he is in training, you would be in doubt”. He continued by saying, “I think that to win something with the club will make him ever greater. I think it would be a greater achievement than going to Barcelona”.
He praised the player and expressed that he had great expectations from him, “He has been educated here since the age of 16, he has grown with this team, and to make it into a winning side would be a great achievement for him”.
