Breaking EPL News: Chelsea won’t be signing Neymar, as he Renews contract with Santos
The 18 year old from Santos has dismissed all claims that he will be joining a new club this season. He has now lifted his case out of the mist by saying that he will stay with his current club for at least another year.
Reports from Santos have concluded that Neymar will be staying with the club for another year. This has happened after a new and improved deal was offered to him and he agreed to it.
It is said that at the end of the next season he will make a move and that won’t specifically be with the English Premier League winning team Chelsea but with any other club.
The latest prodigy in the footballing world Neymar has refused a 20 million pounds offer from Chelsea. This decision was taken mostly by the Santos board but they did take Neymar in confidence before ignoring the bid.
Now he is in contract with a new and rewarding deal with the Sao Paulo club. The deal was completed on Thursday but it has just been revealed to the media. The agent of Neymar Wagner Ribeiro and President of Santos Luis Alvaro Oliveira were the only ones present on the press conference.
The details of the new contract have not been revealed yet but there are massive changes expected in it. It is reckoned that the salary offered to the young forward would be the same that Chelsea was offering him at Stamford Bridge.
Earlier Neymar’s agent Ribeiro wanted Neymar to sign the Chelsea deal desperately but his sudden change in stance is indeed surprising. Nevertheless he is an agent and he will do what’s better for promising Brazilian star as it would benefit him too.
Ribeiro stated, “The deal offered by Santos for Neymar is incredible. Viewed outside of Brazil, how it was arranged here with half the training and including all the assistance to the family. I've never seen anything like it”.
So far, the only terms of the agreement that have been revealed are that Santos will pay Neymar what they were paying him previously and that is R$160,000 or 70,000 Euros a month and the rest of the additional amounts will be paid by the sponsors an investors.
This new development in Neymar story means that clubs won’t be able to attain the coveted striker till the end of Copa Libertadores in 2011.
