In a bold move this afternoon AT&T, INC has offered the owners of the Toronto Maple Leafs (OTPF) a buyout of 30% over the actual team value. A spokesperson from AT&T was quoted as saying.. "Due to the increase of AT&T subscribers interest in a Yahoo Hockey Forum, the company realized that owning a NHL franchise would benefit the company greatly, so we as a company have taken steps in obtaining a franchise."

WOW, can you belive it? What are your thoughts?

I heard they originally tried to buy the Vancouver Cancuks but Verizon stepped in at the 11th Hour and so AT&T moved in towards buyin the Leafs. They will reportly offer Sundin a post-retirement personals ervices deal similar to what the Packers offered Favre.

30% over value? AT&T can't afford it. They don't have enough money. Maybe you haven't heard the latest. MLS&E (Toronto Maple Leafs) have now assumed ownership of the Buffalo Bills from Ralph Wilson. So they now own, an NHL Hockey Team, an NBA Basketball team, an MLS Soccer team, an NFL franchise, and 40% of an MLB Baseball team.

the Leafs Owner just bought it randomly to have a NHL franchise...and that's pathetic...

At least the Habs owner really did something with the team (from 120 millions to 240 millions in 4 years...) and same for the Caps and the Bolts owners...

So if someone does buy the Leafs it will be a good things for them...'cause this team isn't going anywhere...

and I want our MTL/TOR rivalry back...

NOO!!!!! OTPF may suck  but at least they are Canadian.  I do not want any Americans owning my CANADIAN team.
