Breaking News: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 snubbed Premier League cash-spending side over Barcelona – Giampaolo Pozzo
Udinese’s owner, Giampaolo Pozzo, has recently revealed that Manchester City were close to buying the Chilean winger, Alexis Sanchez. However, the former Udinese star decided to snub the Premier League cash-spending side and joined Barcelona.
Barcelona are currently considered to be one of the best sides in not only the world but also in the history of the game.
While playing under their current coach, Barcelona managed to win six trophies in a single season – this was in the first year of Josep Guardiola being in charge. Later, Barcelona managed to win the league and the Copa Del Rey. Last season, the Spanish Champions
won La Liga along with the most prestigious European title – the UEFA Champions League.
After their amazing European double, Josep Guardiola decided to go out on a shopping spree. The Catalans were expected to buy the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giuseppe-Rossi-c15027 and Alexis Sanchez. Guardiola decided to
buy the Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez rather than the Villarreal striker.
Recently it was revealed that the Catalan Giants lied about Alexis Sanchez’s fees which they paid to lure him at the Nou Camp.
The Catalans reported that Sanchez cost them 26 million Euros along with 11.5 million Euros worth the bonuses they were to pay him later. However, Quique Pina revealed earlier this week that Barcelona actually paid 43 million Euros for the Chilean star.
Before joining Barcelona, Sanchez had the choice between the Catalan Giants and the Premier League side Manchester City. City are currently considered to be one of the favourites to win their respective league. However, Sanchez still decided to join Barcelona
who are currently the best team rather than Manchester City who are going to become a big force in the league and in Europe soon.
Recently, the club owner Giampaolo Pozzo said:
"He only wanted to sign for Barcelona and because of that the negotiations were not easy.”
He then told the press how Manchester City were also interested in signing the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 target:
"There were offers from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 that were higher, a €45m one from Manchester City to be precise."
Alexis Sanchez injured himself and hasn’t really shown his best form for the Catalan Giants yet. However, he has finally resumed training after being sidelined for more than three weeks.
