Breaking News: Bayern Munich interested in Cedric Carrasso
German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in Bordeaux shot-stopper, Cedric Carrasso and are keeping tabs on his progress.
The highly rated goalie might be on his way out of the Girondins de Bordeaux side as Bayern Munich are interested to add a new goalkeeper in their squad. It has been rumoured that the reigning Bundesliga champions have been monitoring the Frenchman’s situation
for a long time now.
Initially, the German club were reportedly interested in signing Schalke and German national team keeper, Manuel Neuer. But Schalke seem reluctant to let go of their prized asset who has been attracting interest from many European clubs as well.
It is also rumoured that the 28-year-old has been scouted many times by the Munich scouts and the team might make an offer for the goalie during the January transfer window.
Cedric Carrasso started his football career with Olympique de Marseille and had short stints at Crystal Palace, Guingamp and Toulouse. He joined Bordeaux in 2009 and has a contract that lasts till 2013 so he might not come in cheap for Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich may have to do without the presence of versatile midfielder, Tony Kroos after he picked up a foot injury following a 3-0 home win against St. Pauli on Saturday.
Kroos suffered from the injury in the start of the 2nd half but played through the injury and it seems that this might have aggravated the injury.
Tony Kroos underwent an examination and Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wolfhart, the Munich doctor, confirmed that the midfielder won’t be available for at least 2 weeks.
Tony Kroos will have a cast around his foot until December 23 and is hopeful to return for training in the start of the New Year.
Bayern Munich will be without his services for the league match against VfB Stuttgart on Sunday and he will also miss the DFB Pokal match against Schwaben in mid-week.
The 20-year-old youngster is the product of Bayern Munich youth academy and was loaned out to Bayer Leverkusen in 2009-10 season where in 43 appearances, he scored 10 goals which prompted Munich coach, Louis Van Gaal to bring the midfielder back to Allianz
Arena where he has so far, played 13 matches.
