Breaking News: Carlos Tevez withdraws his transfer request
In a strange turn of events at the Eastlands stadium last night, Carlos Tevez has now reportedly withdrawn his transfer request which was handed in to Manchester City in the latter stages of last week after it was revealed that
Tevez’s relationship with the management at the club had deteriorated beyond all repair.
Tevez was bought by Manchester City before the 2009 summer transfer window ended, the Argentineans signing proved to be invaluable to City’s cause as they finished 5th in the 2009-2010 English Premier League season.
Carlos was also given the captains arm band thanks to his passionate performances for the club and also given the fact that he was and still is the most talented player at the Eastlands stadium.
However, ever since his arrival at City, Tevez has had frequent bust ups with the manager Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323. The striker has been known to complain of excessive training and frequent breakdowns due to fatigue. Nonetheless, Tevez
is one of City’s top goal scorers this season and is their main man if they are to achieve anything of note in the 2010-2011 season.
Before City’s match against Everton kicked off last night, it was revealed that the striker had withdrawn his request to seek a move away from the Manchester club. This move by Tevez also prompted Roberto Mancini to entrust the
target man with the captain’s arm band for the Everton game, a match that City eventually lost by two goals to one.
The main rift in the relationship had emerged over time due to a misunderstanding between Kia Joorabchian and Garry Cook. Kia is Tevez’s trusted representative whereas Garry Cook is Manchester City’s chief executive. Further fuel
to the fire was added to the mix by the fact that Tevez came out and expressed that he was desperately missing his family which is settled back in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841.
However, the latest comments from Manchester City reveal that some sort of an agreement has finally been reached. City’s official website stated, "Manchester City can confirm to its fans that 'clear-the-air' talks have been held
with Carlos Tevez. During the meeting Carlos expressed his absolute commitment to the club and formally withdrew his transfer request. Carlos' contract remains unchanged and both Carlos and the football club are keen to focus on the opportunities that lie
ahead."
Mancini concluded the matter himself as he spoke before the Everton match. The Italian said, "I am happy that we finish this and Carlo stays, it's very important for everyone. It was easy." Manchester City are currently third in
the English Premier League with 32 points from 18 games but they have already played one more match than Arsenal, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Tottenham who have only played 17 games thus far. On the other hand, Manchester United tops the English League table with 34 points
from 16 matches.
