Claudio Ranieri appointed as new Inter Milan manager: Serie A news
Inter Milan have appointed former A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager, Claudio Ranieri, as their new head coach to replace Gian Piero Gasperini.
Gasperini was sacked from managerial duties just three games into the 2011/12 Serie A season after a horrendous start to the campaign. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 have lost two of their three games of the league thus far and played a goalless draw in the other.
The Nerazzurri suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Serie A newcomers, Novara, recently and President, Massimo Moratti, revealed after the match that it would be very difficult for him to persist with the former Genoa boss.
Reports in the media had linked Ranieri with the Inter http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 immediately after Gasperini’s sacking and has now been officially confirmed as the new Nerazzurri boss.
The club’s official statement confirmed that the 59-year-old has signed a two year contract and will take-over the managerial duties with immediate effect.
“Claudio Ranieri is officially the new Coach of Inter. The Coach has signed a contract that will bind him to the club until June 30, 2013. All at FC Internazionale are pleased to welcome Claudio Ranieri and his staff.”
Ranieri has also confirmed his appointment and has vowed to bring the club back to winning ways. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss did not blame Gasperini for the crisis and believes that he had his own ideas but unfortunately they did not work for his team.
"Gasperini wanted to bring his own ideas (namely a back three), he tried to make it work at all costs and he didn't succeed. I will try to get this team back to playing with all their force, as they used to know how. Gasperini didn't mess up, he has his footballing ideas. You have to congratulate him because he tried everything with his ideas."
The experienced tactician is not promising instant success but he is hoping get the team back on track as soon as possible.
Ranieri’s last appointment as a manager was with the A.S Roma side and remained at the Stadio Olimpico Rome for two years.
