Butt.
“I will not take charge as the national team manager again,” Saeed said in an interview to a local news channel. Earlier, rumors about his resignation had also emerged during Pakistan’s controversy ridden tour of England, where the team was alleged of spot
fixing, slow playing and ball tampering amongst many others.
These allegations were then followed by calls for putting a ban on Pakistan Cricket. PCB brushed aside these allegations saying that they will fight against them and also hinted at a possible controversy to malign Pakistan in the cricketing world. The 75-year-old
manager had served Pakistan team for some time now. However, he was under heavy scrutiny following the spot fixing allegations.
Meanwhile, official sources have said that Mohammad Amir has confessed that he was made to be a part of spot fixing and that he never wanted to do it, had it not been for the suspended skipper Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif. These sources added that Mohammad
Amir approached the board and said that he was innocent and a victim of the lobbying of some senior players in the team.
It is said that Amir told the resigning team manager about the pressure that was exerted on him by the senior players in the spot fixing fiasco which marred the Pakistan series in England. The spot fixing scandal has resulted in the provisional suspension
of three Pakistan players and it is likely that Mohammad Amir may escape a serious punishment due to his confession against the other accused players.
Amir is one of the most promising players of Pakistan Cricket and is ranked no. 8 in the ICC Test bowling ranking. He is the youngest player to have taken 50 wickets in the Test matches and was recently considered to be one of the most promising talents
