Breaking News: Cristiano Ronaldo backs former team mate Wayne Rooney
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is behind former team mate Wayne Rooney to find his top form when he returns to first team action.
Wayne Rooney only recently ended a month long saga regarding his future at Manchester United, by signing a 5 year contract with Red Devils. That finally put an end to the melodrama caused by the player by contradicting manager Sir Alex
Ferguson a week earlier and was delighted to commit his future with the club. However, Rooney is nothing near his usual self that led to United pay a record fee for teenager to Everton in 2004, as the player has not scored a single goal in open play since
March.
Despite this, Rooney’s friend and former team mate Ronaldo, who joined his dream club Real Madrid for a record fee of 80 million pound last season is confident that the English star would be back to his scoring ways soon.
"Wayne has not started this season very well but he is still a fantastic player and I know that very soon he will be back to show that. He has made his decision to stay with United and sign a new contract and we must all respect that.
It's not my position to give him advice on that. But I know that things can change very quickly indeed”, claimed the 25 year old forward. Ronaldo reflected his own performance this season, stating that he didn’t have a good start to the current season because
one cannot play at top level all the time. However, Ronaldo kept calm, did his job and worked hard on training pitch and all of a sudden everything changed when he scored a few for his national side and club.
"Football is like that. Sometimes we play bad and then you score a goal and everyone thinks differently about you. That will happen for Wayne,” claimed the 2008 World Player of the year.
Ronaldo also backs former manager and mentor Sir Alex Ferguson to take the club out of their misery this season and claims Ferguson is the best man for the job. For Ronaldo, Mourinho and Ferguson remain the best managers on the planet
and both of them have achieved everything they have set their eyes on. Ronaldo was confident that it would only be a matter of time before United get back to their legendary self. Sir Alex Ferguson is the most decorated manager in British history and has the
experience to lead any time to success. United are still undefeated in all competitions and would want to pick up more wins than draws in order to keep firm for the Premier league crown.
