Breaking News: David Beckham close to playing for Tottenham Hotspur
Former England captain, David Beckham is closing in on a move to Tottenham on a loan deal from LA Galaxy.
At the moment, it is off season in the MLS (Major League Soccer USA). Therefore, Beckham has set his eyes on a loan move to London outfit Tottenham Hotspur.
The deal may not be for more than 2 months but Beckham fans will be delighted to see the former Manchester United superstar back in the English Premier League (EPL) for the 1st time since 2003.
The 36-year-old may have to work on his fitness to cope up with the fast and physical EPL game. Beckham is no stranger to loan moves in the January transfer window as he has had 2 spells with Italian giants AC Milan in the previous 2 seasons.
Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp is a big fan of the charismatic David Beckham. Tottenham are sure to benefit from the possible move even if Beckham does not feature on the team-sheet as he is one of the most marketable names in world football. The money
generated from the brand Beckham and the shirt sales is sure to help the London club financially.
LA Galaxy and Tottenham must now decide on the cut off point for the revenue generated by Beckham’s presence at White Hart Lane. Once that is decided the move seems inevitable.
David Beckham has been written off by many pundits and experts but he has silenced them before and it will not be a surprise if he does that again. During his time at the Spanish football powerhouse Real Madrid also, he was written off by manager Capello
but he bounced back in grand style and helped Madrid win the La Liga. Then he again proved his worth with AC Milan and also the English National team.
They say form is temporary but class is permanent and Beckham has no shortage of class. If he can be even a shadow of the player he used to be then Tottenham fans are in for a treat.
