Breaking News: David Beckham loan deal to Tottenham Hotspur called off
Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that the loan deal for LA Galaxy star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 has hit a brick wall.
Spurs were the fore-runners in capturing the 35-year-old on a loan move from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 in their season break but the manager has now confirmed that the deal is highly unlikely to take place.
"I don't think it's going to happen, I think there are problems with the insurance. David is welcome to come and train here for a month or so which I think he would like to do but it looks like, as far as playing goes, it looks like a no-goer. It couldn't
happen so, not a problem, we'll just get on with it," stated the Tottenham Manager.
This would come as a shock to all as the manager had recently claimed the deal was about to be signed. Redknapp expected the ageing midfielder to join up with the club by the end of the current week but it seems that the two clubs couldn’t agree on the insurances.
The reason behind Beckham wanting to return the Premier League was his desire to play for the Three Lions again. A disheartening Achilles concern ruled him out of the 2010 FIFA World Cup hence Beckham has not played for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 since October 2009. The player
featured in 16 out of 20 games for the Three Lions in World Cup qualifiers but was unfortunate to miss out on what would’ve been his last World Cup.
Beckham may well have to look elsewhere in Europe to gain first team experience in order to impress manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello. A handful of clubs are still interested in signing the player. David Beckham is considered one of the best midfielders of his era and
fans around the globe would’ve loved to see the 35-year-old back in the Premier League. That dream is now unlikely to occur, which would’ve broken the hearts of many dedicated English fans.
