Breaking News: EPL News - Tottenham Hotspurs
Spurs midfielder Luka Modric is proud of his current form, when he dominated the midfield in the recent fixture against Everton. The youngster has stated that the fans can expect the best form from him in the coming weeks. Modric has not
been a consistent performer this season and has had his ups and downs. Modric could not complete the entire 90 minutes of Spurs recent visit to Milan last week, owing to shot-stopper Heurelho Gomes being sent off in the opening 10 minutes of the match. Modric
was handed the captain’s arm band in the fixture against Everton and performed on the highest level in the match.
The player therefore feels confident that he would resume being the fan favourite with his performances and relishes the chance to go at Manchester United this weekend. Modric, who joined Spurs from his hometown club in Croatia in 2008,
has become an integral part of the Spurs squad. It was his form last season that led to Spurs finishing in the top four for the first time in nearly 50 years.
"It's always tough against Everton and this was exactly the same," he said. "I think this was my best game of the season so far. I feel better and better every game and I will start to play much better", claimed the 25 year old.
Against Everton, Modric managed some brilliant passes from the centre and gave his all owing to the responsibility of the arms band. Despite both goals coming in span of four minutes, starting from Baines’s free-kick shot for Everton to
Van Der Vaart’s simple tap-in from Peter Crouch, Modric believed his side should’ve managed all three points against the Merseyside club.
"I thought we deserved to win. We were unlucky with some chances and it was a good point after a tough game in Milan on Wednesday. We were the team pushing to win but couldn't find a way through in the second half", claimed the midfielder.
Since his arrival at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2008, Modric has made over 80 appearances for the North London club and has scored 8 goals. The statistics may not show the true value of the 25 year old as the player has created countless
chances for the strikers and therefore retains his own spot in the starting XI.
Spurs face their toughest challenge in the Premier League when Manchester United host the North London club on Saturday. Manchester United has not lost a single match in the past 20 consecutive fixtures and are in top form as they arrive
for the encounter from their recent 3-2 victory over Wolves.
