Breaking News: EPL Round-up - Arsenal
Young striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas claims he has the ability to offer something new to the club. The player expected to make his first start for the North London club, when he features in the Carling Cup match against Newcastle United.
Newcastle United are currently in the form of their life this season; having defeated Premier League champions Chelsea in the Carling Cup, nonetheless defeating Gunners would be a much harder task. To tackle that, Arsenal manager Arsene
Wenger is expected to select the right blend of youth and experience, as the side look for their first silverware since 2005.
Thomas has been in top form this season, having thrashed 8 goals in 5 appearances for the Arsenal reserves, but was still rumoured to loaned to 2nd Division side QPR this season. Thomas was also given his first
Premier League appearance when he came on as a late substitute in Arsenal 2-0 defeat to Chelsea. “I've got to keep doing it and keep showing that it`s not just a one-off. Hopefully the boss will see what I am doing and that I am doing it on a regular basis
and hopefully he will give me my chance”, stated the youngster.
Owing to this, the striker is expected to make his first start for the Gunners side and would do anything for more first team action at the club.
ARSENAL
"I think I can offer something different. There is no-one that plays exactly my style," Emmanuel-Thomas said. I am a big guy that likes to run with the ball and beat players”, stated the teenager.
“I can create chances, I can score goals, I can make goals and the way I see things in the game has become a lot better than it used to be”, explained the striker in his explanation.
Arsenal is in good stride owing to their recent win over Manchester City. City defender Boyata was red carded in the opening 5 minutes therefore it was all Arsenal from here onwards as the playmakers obliterated their defence. The North
London ran riot over the Eastlands, when they managed a 3-0 victory. It may have been much for the men in blue, but manager Arsene Wenger was happy with the result. That win over City has taken the side into the second spot and is currently 5 points behind
Chelsea, who are on 22 points from opening 9 fixtures.
The side would need to keep that form going into this Carling Cup clash, but would need to vary of the opposition. Newcastle United are in good form since their arrival in the premier league this season and are currently on the 9th spot
with 11 points.
