Breaking News: EPL Round Up - Manchester United
Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan expects manager Sir Alex Ferguson to start him in this week’s Premier League contest against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Obertan, who joined Manchester United last season, has made a good impression
on the team while playing against UEFA Champions League match against Bursaspor, where he scored an amazing out of the box goal.
The player’s form has come at the right time for the Premier League club, as in form winger Nani is ruled out of the Wolves match. Nani suffered a minor groin injury while playing against Turkish Champions and was taken off in the 23rd minute,
which paved way for Obertan to shine.
"It is going to be difficult to keep my place but I am going to work hard and make sure I have no regrets if I don't make the squad at the weekend. But I am working towards making it and I hope the coach picks me," stated the French winger.
Obertan is expected to do great things at Manchester United, as the side is currently lacking first team wingers owing to long term injuries to Ryan Giggs and Antonio Valencia and with Nani also sidelined for atleast one week, Obertan
would be required to use his burst of pace and technique to create chances similar to Nani, who has really taken the place of departing Cristiano Ronaldo. Wayne Rooney is also injured for the next 5 weeks and the second string would have to step up and take
place of the injured first team.
United play Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have really picked up their pace by defeating Man City last week and would want to pull another upset by defeating United. Mick McCarthy has already warned United to expect the best of them at Old
Trafford and Ferguson would want to score early goals to give the remaining first team the chance to rest up for the Derby match this week.
