Breaking News: EPL Roundup - Liverpool
Brazilian midfielder Lucas has expresses his happiness to be able to start for both his club and country. The 23 year old midfielder joined Liverpool in 2007 and has made over 80 appearances for the Merseyside club. The player’s overall form has been improving
under manager Roy Hodgson and has become an integral part of both club and country.
Newly appointed coach for Brazilian National side Mano Menezes fancies starting the 23 year old Brazilian in the holding midfielder position and the player was extremely delighted to be part of the National outfit.
"I'm pleased with the way I played at the weekend (against Blackburn) and with how I'm playing since last season. I think I'm improving all the time. I only have to do one thing: work and try to be better every single day”, claimed the midfielder.
Liverpool is on an all time downfall owing to the unsettlement of players and new manager Roy Hodgson has so far failed to bring the best out of the Merseyside club. Liverpool is currently fighting relegation, which is utterly disrespectful for a side that
enjoyed the top four positions for so many seasons.
Liverpool has won the English title for a total of 18 times, along with winning the European title for a record 5 times. The side remains one of most successful side in the Premier League but have lost their stride, largely due to the ownership crisis over
the years.
The side host a galore of some of the finest stars in the world, but have failed to utilize their talents to the fullest. Despite having one of the best strikers in the form of Fernando Torres in the ranks, the side has not won a single trophy in the past
4 years.
The team still depends heavily on the services of two of their biggest stars, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, and is a pack of disorganized hooligans without these two. This makes both Torres and Gerrard feel that they may be bigger than the club, with
Torres speculated to leave the outfit come this transfer window.
Lucas was an average performer since his arrival from Brazilian club Gremio but has picked up his form this season. The player is a good box to box player and has good tackling ability. Lucas still lacks the experience and class to become one of the greatest
but is on route to a bright career at the Merseyside club should he keep on working hard, both on and off the pitch.
