Breaking News: Edin Dzeko all set for Manchester City
Manchester City is all set to break the German league transfer record by signing striker Edin Dzeko for a reported fee of 34 million pounds.
The striker has already expressed his desire to leave his current club in pursue of bigger competition, with his dream club being Italian Giants AC Milan. However, that is not possible since Milan have confirmed the signing of
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 from Sampdoria, making it highly unlikely for Rossoneri to pay that much for him.
City’s buying power is unmatched with any other club in Europe and have already out-bided the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona to get the player they want. The club has already made their intentions known and is most likely to
snap up the player in January.
"We have the chance to win the league this year and the decisive factor could be Edin Dzeko. This player can decide titles and that is why we want him," stated the Manchester United coach.
Even the Wolfsburg managing director, Dieter Hoeness has confirmed that he would be willing to sell off the 24-year-old, claiming new players would need to be brought in to turn the season around.
Selling Dzeko would further deplete the side, as the 24-year-old managed a superb season, which took Wolfsburg to the Bundesliga crown. A 40 million pound fee can bring in a lot of new talent to the club. The current Bundesliga
transfer record is 30 Million, paid by Bayern Munich for striker Mario Gomez in 2009.
Sale of Diego from Werder Bremen to Juventus last season is still considered the most expensive deal in German market, as the Brazilian joined Wolfsburg for a transfer fee of 15.5 Million Pounds.
Selling the player off for 40 million would earn Wolfsburg a mega profit having they paid only four million for Dzeko in 2007. The player won the Bundesliga Golden boot last season and was the runner up for the award http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Grafite-c15198 won
in Wolfsburg’s winning season.
In total, Dzeko has scored 10 goals this season and overall has scored 66 times in 111 games since his arrival in 2007.
