Breaking News: Jack Wilshere to sign a new contract with Arsenal
Jack Wilshere is all set to become one of the present Arsenal players to sign an improved contract at the club. Jack’s future was under doubt at the Emirates stadium after it was revealed that he was on a short term contract. However, Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s
manager just recently revealed to a British newspaper that the midfielder is expected to sign a new contract sooner rather than later.
Jack Wilshere is seen by many as the future of English football. As an 18 year old, Jack has emerged as one of the most promising young midfielders in the game. He has developed his game at Arsenal’s youth academy under the influence of Arsene Wenger and
Cesc Fabregas. It is widely speculated that Wilshere is Fabregas’ eventual successor at the club as the Spanish midfielder is linked to a move away from the Emirates stadium more often than not.
Wilshere has also been linked to a swoop away from London to greener pastures such as Real Madrid. But these reports remain unconfirmed up till now. Jack’s new contract will make him one of the integral members of Arsenal’s squad. The youthful midfielder
made his English national team debut early in August after the FIFA 2010 World Cup, in the three lion’s friendly matchup against Hungary at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Wenger’s exact statement to the newspaper in question was, "We are confident we will sign Jack quickly and hope to announce the deal soon." Jack is already expected to play a huge role in Arsenal’s bid to become the 2010-2011 English Premier League champions.
If the London club does indeed succeed in doing so, they will break their trophy drought which has plagued them since the past five years. Arsenal’s last trophy was an F.A Cup triumph way back in 2005. Ever since then, the English Premier League has been dominated
by either Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United or Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea.
