Breaking News La Liga: Lyon winger Michel Bastos still has chance of a Real Madrid move
The Brazilian star Michel Bastos has clarified that he might still be making a move to another club. Rumours have been rife in the summers that the Brazilian international will be making a move to a Spanish or an Italian club.
Bastos has just confirmed that he can’t rule out the possible chances of a transfer however there has been no contact made with him from the speculated clubs so far.
Lyon the current club of left back/winger Michel Bastos have also confirmed Bastos’ comments. They have relayed that there was some interest shown by the clubs but none have actually approached with an official offer.
Bastos expressed that the Spanish heavy weight Real Madrid was a possible club for the transfer but the transfer window is about to close and they have not presented him with an offer. Bastos praised the club saying that it was a great club and he would be privileged if he got a chance to play for Los Blancos.
Bastos, was one of the players that starred for Brazil in the FIFA 2010 World cup in South Africa. He has become more popular after the World Cup and rumours from Bernabeu state that Real Madrid will be willing to give Lyon 12 million Euros and Royston Drenthe in exchange for the 27 year old winger.
Media reports have concluded a very different story however. They have presnted that Jose Mourinho has not recieved a bid to the club and that is the truth. They have also conveyed that the club is faking the interest shown by Real Madrid for the striker. This however can’t be confirmed as officials from the club have as a matter of fact presented the name of Bastos.
Bastos has stated, “People are saying things right and left, I try not to pay too much attention and it does not bother me, the only thing I want is to return to action soon”.
He continued, “I do not want to know anything about this story until there is something official, and I have acknowledged it. Real Madrid would be a great club for me but they have not made any offer, and no one has called the club.”
Nevertheless Bastos was clever enough to jumble up his words and articulate that the move to Real Madrid was still possible, “I know that the leaders of Real Madrid have said that their signings are over, but you never know”.
He added, “If I leave today, tomorrow, or next year it will be because the club believes it is a good deal for them and for me. Otherwise, I will stay”.
