Breaking News: Leonardo silent on links with Inter Milan’s managerial job
Leonardo, the former A.C Milan manager and the Rossoneri legend is maintaining silence over reports that are linking him to the Inter Milan’s managerial job. Inter Milan are currently looking for a new manager to take over the club after they parted ways
with Rafael Benitez, just twenty four hours ago. It has been a strange month for Inter Milan already as they won the FIFA Club World Cup competition and also secured their passage to the last 16 teams of the UEFA Champions League.
However, Benitez’s attitude towards the owner, Massimo Moratti was too much for the club to handle as both the parties reached an eventual agreement over contractual termination. After Inter’s success in the FIFA Club World Cup competition in Abu Dhabi,
Benitez came out in the media and questioned Massimo Moratti’s role at the club. He called on the owner to back him with funds in the January transfer window or to sack him. Moratti obviously opted for the latter as his club are now forced to consider their
options as the Serie A enters a winter break period.
Rafael Benitez was appointed as Inter’s manager in the summer after Jose Mourinho left the Italian club for the Spanish giants, Real Madrid. Jose won the treble with Inter in the 2009-2010 season as the Nerazurri won the UEFA Champions League along with
the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia. One of the major contenders for the manager’s job at Inter Milan is Leonardo. The Brazilian was A.C Milan’s coach in the 2009-2010 season but was sacked by the club due to his differences with Silvio Berlusconi, A.C Milan’s
owner.
Despite the rivalry which exists between A.C Milan and Inter Milan, Leonardo might consider an offer from Inter who are the current Italian league champions. In his latest interview, the Brazilian spoke about the rumours linking him with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. He
said, “I know less than you. The only thing that I can say now is merry Christmas to you." Inter Milan are currently 13th points behind the league leaders and local rivals, A.C Milan.
Little news has emerged from San Siro after Benitez’s dismissal but Moratti hinted that Inter were considering the names that were thrown up in the media as he stated, "All the names that circulate about the next Inter coach are interesting." When he was
asked by the media that whether Leonardo will be the next coach to take charge at Inter Milan, he was diplomatic in his answer as he stated, "We'll see, I will tell you when we decide. All the people we have in mind are experienced, brave and intelligent.
However, when the time comes we'll tell."
