Breaking News: Louis Van Gaal admits Bayern should sell Schweinsteiger in a shock admission
Bayern Munich’s first team manager and coach, Louis Van Gaal has come out and revealed that he has suggested to Bayern Munich that they should cash in on Bastian Schweinsteiger if they are offered the right price. This admission has come
as a shock in the recent saga of Schweinsteiger’s contract situation at Bayern Munich, a club where has spent his entire football career so far. Bastian emerged as a youth star at Bayern and since then he has come a long way. In the summer, Schweinsteiger
impressed as he was a part of the German national team side which made it till the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Bastian has been regarded by many as one of the finest players of his generation, a player who started his career as a left midfielder now plays in central midfield for both club and country. Many view him as a future successor to Michael
Ballack in the German national side. Earlier on, Bastian came out and expressed his desire to play in England. Currently in the second last year of his contract, Schweinsteiger has become one of the most sought after players in football due to his recent performances
for Bayern Munich and the German national team.
Schweinsteiger’s comments regarding his wish to play in the English Premier League were accompanied by Bayern Munich’s statement that they will offer Bastian a higher wage package, something that the German has not responded to as yet.
However, Van Gaal who led Bayern Munich to the UEFA Champions League final last year against Inter Milan has now suggested that Bayern should cash in on Bastian.
He said, "I think that Bayern Munich is a business and if it is true that 30 million Euros have been offered for him, then you cannot just ignore that kind of money”. Bayern has already secured the services of Phillip Lahm for a further
five years, a player who was in a similar kind of a contractual situation as his compatriot Bastian Schweinsteiger. Van Gaal went onto say, "I would do it differently. And my clubs have always listened to what I have said, and my clubs have always earned a
lot of money."
Manchester United, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea are all interested in Bastian Schweinsteiger’s services. However, the man himself has only spoken about Chelsea and Manchester United thus far as his probable destinations in his
previous interviews. If Bayern does indeed opt to let Bastian play out his contract, there is a very real possibility that the player might leave the club for free in his last year of contract.
