Breaking News: M’Vila admires the Premier League
The Rennes midfield maestro, Yann M'Vila has revealed his admiration for the English Premier League. The Frenchman is reportedly a Premier League transfer target already and admits his love of watching the Premier League matches which he terms as “a warrior’s
games”.
The 20-year old has been the French Ligue 1’s best performers so far this current season and has built on the promising campaign of 2009-10 to become a regular fixture in Rennes starting XI.
The youngster earned his first international call up by French manager Laurent Blanc in August and has already featured in the last 5 of the 6 Les Bleus matches.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa are reportedly keen on signing the youngster as his commanding performances for Rennes have really caught the eye of a few big clubs in europe.
Rennes might be tempted to let go of their prized asset if they receive an offer in the region of somewhere around £13 million, the same amount that Rennes received from English side, Sunderland, for the services of Ghana international, Asamoah Gyan.
Quite recently, M’Vila suggested that it doesn’t really matter when he leaves Rennes because he is ready for anything. He hasn’t indicated yet that a move to the Premier League is imminent but he does claim that his style of play will be better suited to
the Premier League.
"Which league do I watch on TV? The Premier League! It matches my game," M'Vila told L'Equipe. "It is a warrior's game, where you have to show plenty of fighting spirit."
But despite being so vocal about his love for the English Premier League, M’Vila has a contract at Rennes that will keep him at the club till 2014 and has made clear that he won’t be leaving his club for a club where he might have to sit on the bench.
"You can't leave for a big club to be a substitute," M'Vila said. "I prefer to stay at my club to improve. I want to work more on the attacking aspect of my game - scoring and assisting."
Yann M’Vila is of Congolese descent and captained the French Under-19 team that reached the last 4 of European U-19 Championships in 2009.
