Breaking News: Manchester United owners state deny the speculated takeover of the club
Manchester United’s controversial owners the Glazer family has ruled out a possible takeover of the club, claiming that the club is not for sale at any bid price.
Since the Glazer’s takeover of the club between 2003 and 2005, the American owners have come under heavy fire from the fans and media alike owing to their heavy debt issues. Since their takeover, the club has failed to live up to their transfer policy and
has seen a lot of their funds being pumped to service their debt and interest.
The ticket prices kept on rising since then, which led to lower season tickets being sold off this season and the fans still wear a gold and green scarf to express their discontent with the club. It was reported that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Holdings were looking towards a
possible takeover of the club in the region of 1.5 Billion pounds. That was signified by the 50 Million pound transfer kitty awarded to Sir Alex Ferguson this season, something that has failed to happen since the club’s takeover by the Americans.
Should the Glazers decide to go through with the takeover, they would still make a substantial profit from their investment made 5 years ago but the owners have no plans to do that.
"There has been no bid for the club. Any such bid would be irrelevant anyway because the club is not for sale," claimed the Glazers regarding the takeover, according to the local media.
The Americans bought the club for 790 Million pounds five years ago and accepting a 1.5 Billion pound bid would be money well spent. Yet, the Glazers would want to remain with the club for immediate future.
It is certainly not good news for the fans, who would still have to face price hikes in the season tickets. The anti-Glazers movement still goes on, with thousands of fans still wearing the gold and green scarves to show their discontent with the current
owners of the most famous club on the planet.
