No surprise at all. The case has been unprecedented and the message is loud and clear, neglect is a criminal offence unless you are middle class doctors, with the help of power and money. But what will always remain are the unanswered questions and the behaviour of the Mc's, which will never be forgotten and is self explanatory and evident in the many inconsistencies of the whole 'charade'.

Regardless what the mcCanns may have or not gone through ,it was theirs and no 1 elses fault,and they did still break the law.Its maddie i feel for.

Not even neglect? That stinks. Who cares about them. They know what happened to her.  Again, rich high profile suspects get away with it.  Poor little Maddie is the one who suffers.

Not at all. The McCanns do not occupy the moral high ground. What part of leaving 3 children under 5 in a flat on their own for a period of time unattended during which time Madeleine went "missing" is considered to be responsible parenting. I do not consider that responsible parenting.

Apparently the investigation - if reports are to be understood -is "shelved" until further information comes to light and who knows what and when that might be.

Lets hope that people learn from what has happened here. I live close to a holiday area in Spain. I see British tourists coming here in the hordes. For some reason they drop their standards and many appear to leave their brains at Gatwick.

I do find it disturbing how the very people who put alcohol before there child have not been bought before a court of law facing child neglect charges what message does this send parents who will do this in the future, i guess money really does talk :)

Madeleine deserves more than that.

I am relieved that her parents have been exonerated and that the Prosecutor has admitted that the PJ's couldn't find the clues.

Like all these big stories, first there'll be an angry reaction from the media, then it will all cool down and be forgotten about.

Through all this, the McCanns have already been punished for neglecting their children  ...they'll have to live with their guilt.

I think they are unique in being the only parents of a missing child that refused to answer police questions or cooperate with a re enactment!!!!

Even strangers do not do that!!!

All they have to do is agree to answer the questions and the case would be reopened immediately!!!
