Premier league Round Up- Birmingham City
Birmingham City manager, Alex McLeish looks to motivate his side from their shock defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium, where the Blues lost 1-0. The manager now looks to have the same form back which led the
side to defeat defending Champions Chelsea at St Andrews. The manager stated that the Wolves are not an easy side, as they managed to defeat Manchester City, who are currently second in the premier league. McLeish added that this season, the premier league
is very competitive and any side has the ability to pull a shocker against any side. The manager, therefore stated that he believes his side can defeat any upcoming side, with the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United in the coming weeks.
"It will be a very difficult December going into January, it`s tough, but that`s the challenge of the league and we`re delighted to be here. We'll be up for the challenge, there's no doubt about it,” stated the Birmingham City
manager.
Birmingham will have to be on their toes when they face these top sides, and would want favourable results if they want to stay in the top half of the premier league table. Birmingham has had a good run under manager Alex McLeish
last season, where they finished 9th for the first time in 5 years. The side also managed a yearlong undefeated streak at the St Andrews Stadium, stretching from September 2009 to this September, this year. The side remains one of the strongest
at home and would be looking to take the advantage of the energy of the home crowd in their matches against the Big Guns. Having already defeated Chelsea, McLeish looks to upset the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, and claimed his side has the talent
and resilience to match any team. The side would be hosting Newcastle this weekend at home and would want to secure a win in order to stay firm in their position in the premier league.
