Breaking News: Premier league Round Up - Manchester United
Former Manchester United skipper Rio Ferdinand believes he had full trust in his side to get back to their winning ways and their rise to challenge for the Premier league title has not been shocking for him. The side is currently
on top of the table with a match in hand and would be facing Chelsea to extend their lead on top of the Premier league table. November was not the best of months for the team, as the side managed two successive draws against Aston Villa and Manchester City.
However, the side also managed an impressive victory over Wolves and there were many questions asked over the quality of the United’s squad. So much so that Wayne Rooney has expressed his desire to leave the club following no assurance by the management over
new players. Rooney also questioned the current squad quality, but later signed a 5-year contract with the club.
After that, United have picked up one of the best runs in years and are still undefeated in the league. The side has not lost a single match and managed a narrow yet deserving victory over Arsenal this weekend. The English Captain
however had no doubts in his mind over his team’s ability to perform at the highest level and backed the manager.
"I do believe it. When I look around the changing room I see a fantastic bunch of players. I never doubt them or what they are capable of. If we concentrate and are focussed on doing the things we are asked, we are difficult
to play against," claimed the 32-year-old defender.
Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic were rock solid in defence against Arsenal and did not miss a single header for the entire match. Both of them enjoyed a good partnership at the back and they remain to be one of the best partnerships
in the Premier league. Sir Alex expressed his faith in the two defenders and stated that should both of the players keep performing like this, there would be no one to stop them from being crowned the English Champions for the 19th time.
