Breaking News: Question mark remains over Manchester United’s fixture at Blackpool
Manchester United may well have to wait to face newly promoted Blackpool in the Premier League, owing to the drastic fall in the temperature.
Bloomfield Road is to be the venue for this epic encounter between the tabletops and the newly promoted side, but owing to lack of under-soil heating facility in the home of Blackpool, the match may well be rescheduled for later.
Blackpool are currently doing all they can with the current resources as they have covered the entire pitch and have been using hot air blowers so that the match goes as scheduled.
However, according to the weather update, a further dropping of 5 Celsius is expected in the next 24 hours, which might make the clash impossible.
"We are going to try to do everything we can. We have got something out there that looks like something from a fairground. I waited near it for 10 minutes to get a hot dog!. It's the generator trying to blow hot air on it. "We
hope the game will be on, we want it to be. It would be very embarrassing if we can't get it on. We have tried. I expect the chairman is probably saying 'How much?' but I can't ask for anything more," stated the Blackpool coach in his concern for the clash.
Manchester United are in Red hot form in the premier league, having thrashed the all-action Blackburn Rovers 7-1 last week and would want to keep that form going in order to stay on top. They meet Arsenal and Chelsea in successive
weeks following the Blackpool fixture, so a win here would guarantee them a pole position in the league when the side faces Arsenal and Chelsea in the double header. United would also want to bounce back from their unexpected 4-0 loss to West Ham United in
the Carling Cup in midweek and wouldn’t want to get too carried away with the result against Blackburn Rovers. Wayne Rooney can be expected to be on the scoring sheet should the match take place at Bloomfield road.
