Breaking News: Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho issues warning to Chelsea counterpart Carlo Ancelotti
Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has issued a fair warning to Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti to not overstay at Chelsea and leave if he finds himself unsuitable.
Mourinho was Chelsea’s boss from 2004-2007, where he guided the London-based club to their golden period. The manager enabled the side to win back-to-back Premier League titles along with three FA Cups and two league Cups. In all
Mourinho was responsible of bringing Chelsea’s first Premier League title and 2nd English first division but has to cut short his stay at the club owing to a row with the Chelsea management. The Portuguese manager now advises his former rival Ancelotti
not to overcook his stay at the club and has said that he should leave if he gets opportunities elsewhere.
Mourinho claimed that when he lifted the FA Cup trophy in 2007, he never knew he would’ve been leaving the club after 4 months. He added that he had gotten offers from Real Madrid at the time, but refused to capitalize on that,
which led to him being without a job within a few months.
"When I did the six figures in the air at Wembley, to mark six trophies at Chelsea when we won the FA Cup in 2007, it could have been my last night at Chelsea(nho). I had the chance to go to Real then and said no. Probably I should've
said yes at the time. I decided to stay and four months later had no job!"
Ancelotti had a terrific first season with the London-based club as he guided the club to their first domestic double. Under Ancelotti, Chelsea won the Premier League and the FA Cup last season and are in good form this season
as they are top of the table currently. However, signs of deterioration have begun to show as the side has succumbed to consecutive defeats at the hands of lesser opposition. That signifies towards a possible unrest between the manager and the management and
may well force the former AC Milan coach out of a job if that persists. In his own words, Ancelotti has claimed that he is not in full control of the club as compared to rival Sir Alex Ferguson and he is only allowed to handle the technical side of the campaign.
Whatever may be the reason, if such a dip in form in the season persists for the Blues, they may well have to forgo their Premier League crown to a hungry Manchester United. United and Chelsea are both level in terms of points in the League table and no more
slips can be permitted on either side.
