Breaking News - Serie A: Adrian Mutu falls out with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ACF-Fiorentina-c38209
Latest reports coming out of Italy suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrian-Mutu-c3742 has fallen out with his club, ACF Fiorentina. The Viola forward – one of the best forwards when not suspended or injured – is reported to have received interest from newly promoted Serie A side,
AC Cesena.
If reports are to be believed, Fiorentina have refused to pay the forward 1.8 million in wages annually. The club feels such an exorbitant wage is too high in relation to the services offered by the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 man lately. Fiorentina no. 10 was left out
of the squad that is set to visit Bologna tomorrow and clearly the move did not go down too well with Mutu. Fiorentina aren’t exactly blessed with too many options upfront and by leaving out Mutu, they have made their intentions perfectly clear: they would
rather play without him.
In January last year, Adrian Mutu failed a doping test – not for the first time in his career – and was subsequently given a 9-month suspension. Italian National http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympic-c40122 Committee (INOC) had in fact requested for a one-year ban when forwarding the case to
Italian anti-doping prosecutor. The forward was expected to charge the Viola season upon his return. Sinisa Mihajlovic has missed his influence in injury-enforced absence of Steva Jovetic. However, Mutu’s latest tantrum is likely to be the last straw.
Even though AC Cesena are reported to be interested, it remains to be seen whether Mutu will go for a short term fix. Cesena simply can’t afford to have Adrian Mutu on their pay cheque beyond the six month period. Interestingly, Manchester United are also
one of the destinations the Romanian trouble-maker is linked with.
"I am going to speak with executives of Manchester United, but not right now, for the moment there is an existing contract between the company and the player that must be respected," Mutu’s agent is reported to have said by the Italian media.
