Breaking News: Shane Warne predicts http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in ICC World Cup 2011
Former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne has yet again come up with a prediction for an ICC World Cup 2011 game; this time between Australia and Sri Lanka. Warne said that today’s match would be a close encounter, but he believes that the Kangaroos will
come out on top.
One of the finest spinners in the history of cricket first jokingly tweeted, “Good luck to the Aussies tonight-should be a cracker - my prediction – tie.”
A few minutes later he said, “Serious prediction for tonight's game... Aust will win by 10 runs or 4 wkts.... Another close game.”
The Australian had predicted a tied game between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749, which was played on 27th February. He made his prediction before the start of play, but surprisingly it turned out to be correct.
Batting first, India put up a massive 338-run total against the Poms. Even though the hosts were favourites to win the match, England bounced back strongly in the game. They needed just 67 runs from their last 10 overs with eight wickets and the final batting
power-play remaining.
There was yet another twist in the tale, as India fought hard to pick up a few quick wickets. This put the Poms under a lot of pressure, and they were almost out of the game with 29 runs required for victory in the last two overs.
However, some hefty blows from lower middle-order batsmen Graeme Swann, Tim Bresnan and Ajmal Shehzad helped England tie the match.
Although the fans were delighted with a wonderful game of cricket, many eyebrows were raised over Warne’s prediction. Former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 captain Amir Sohail claimed that no one could give such an accurate forecast of the match, and if such a statement had come
from a Pakistani, he would have been under investigation straight away.
Sohail further added that the Australian legend should be questioned over his controversial statements, and if any evidence is found against him, he should be banned just like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Asif-c76741.
The Pakistani trio was alleged to have been involved in spot-fixing, and was barred from playing cricket by the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) tribunal for lengthy periods.
