Breaking News: Tottenham Hotspur in pole position for Steven Pienaar’s signature
Steven Pienaar’s days at Everton may be numbered as Tottenham Hotspur are in the pole position to sign up the South African.
According to various sources, Spurs are ready to offer 2 million for the 28-year-old midfielder in January, with the player at risk of going for free in the summer. Pienaar himself has signalled towards a possible move to Spurs,

Tottenham chairperson has two options now. Either wait for a free transfer in summer or snap him up in January for 2 million pounds to give Everton some compensation from their former Borussia Dortmund signee. Everton manager David
Moyes has also opened the exit door for the 28-year-old, claiming he is currently busy raising funds for a new striker desperately needed by the club. Moyes, however, would not want to spend more than 3 million pounds for a decent hitman.

Since his arrival at the club in 2008, Pienaar has made 69 appearances, scoring 7 goals. The 28-year-old received the ‘Everton Player of the year’ award for his impressive form last season. Everton would miss the services of the
South African, but have enough midfielders to work with until they find a replacement. Currently, the side likes a quality striker and that is what David Moyes would be looking for come January transfer window.
