Breaking Serie A News: Parma midfielder Sebastian Giovinco out for 4 weeks due to thigh injury
Bad news for the Italian club Parma: their prized 23-year old midfielder,
‘formica atomica’ Giovinco is about to be benched for a month after the player suffered a thigh injury.
Parma’s attacking midfielder is expected to be one of their top guns this season after they acquired him on loan from Juventus this summer. Now, however, during the first leg of the season, Giovinco will be watching the matches
in Serie A from the sidelines.
The Crusaders had an impressive last season according to their standards in which they finished at the 8th
position in the league. Over time, their conditions and performance has improved and more is expected from them.
Sebastian Giovinco is sure to be the man with the torch for them in this race. However, his injury will definitely dampen their campaign. The injury was picked up in the match against Lecce which ended in a 1 – 1 draw.
The technically skilled player, nicknamed the “Atomic Ant”, was taken off the field during the middle of a match as the player was facing thigh strains and discomfort. He was immediately taken for tests which later confirmed that
the player had been injured.
Early reports from the medical team have revealed that the player will be out for at least 4 weeks but it will take him a month to make full recovery. More tests and examinations are being conducted and it is assumed that the results
will fly in soon.
Giovinco has been of the best performers for Gialloblu. Though head coach Pasquale Marino and his men have been under criticism for irregularities in their performance, he has been the exception as he has shone like a beacon for
them this season.
It is a well heard rumour that the Italian team’s national coach Cesare Prandelli, who also managed Parma from 2002 to 2004, was the man who tipped the club to sign in the talented player.
Currently, Parma have five points on the table having played four matches in the Italian League, Serie A. Their next clash is against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this Sunday. They will certainly have a point to prove
on their away leg.
