So my friend is out of town with her parents for the week. She said it was alright for us to hang out at her house while she is gone and since we didn't have a key she said it was ok to go through the window. So me and 5 other friends, for about the 3rd day in a row went through the window at about 11:00 at night and basically just sat around and ate food in the house. Well, this time someone saw us break in, and called the police.

The police came, got us out of the house, checked are cars (nothing illegal was found), and told us that detectives would try to contact the owners of the house via cell phone to see if we are allowed to be in the house.

Luckily, my friend's parents are pretty cool so they will probably tell the police that we are allowed in the house, and to go through the window.

Is there anyway we could be fined or punished even if the parents say its ok? What if they are not ok with it?

  1. If they do not ok it, you could be charged.  In fact, you will be charged!

  2. new law: entering a private residence with out permission is a felony.-blurey

  3. You should be alright.  I live in Michigan, and you have to permission form the owner, occupant, or person having immediate control.    Since your friend said it was ok, you should be safe.  I hope she let her parents know though, if not, that was uncool on her part.
