  1. I can't say there is a best way. You just use speed. Hold the board with a finger and a thumb. Don't worry about breaking the board. Make a quick strike. I had to do this with a fist and with a chuto strike. The chuto was weird to me at first. The 1st couple of time id did that one the board left my hand and then in mid-air it broke in 2 pieces.

You may have to excuse the Japanese spelling. But I think that is correct.

  2. One phrase: angle of impact.

If your angle is UP towards the hold, you will have a more difficult time breaking, regardless of your speed. If your speed and power are good, and your angle of impact is AWAY from the hold, you shouldn't have much difficulty.

  3. When I was training, blue belts were doing this. The answer is speed. Practice and practice until your punches are quick as lightning. When ready, hold the board directly in front of you with your thumb and finger. Then just let loose with as much speed as possible. If the board flys from your hand without breaking, you did not use enough speed.
