Breaking goal scoring record is not http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380’s priority
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Shearer’s goal scoring record is not his priority, as he wishes to achiever other goals ahead of breaking the record.
The Dutch international and Gunners captain went on to match Theirry Henry’s record of thirty four goals and is now two goals shy of matching Alan Shearer’s record of thirty six goals in a calendar year.
The striker now has one game left to break this record, but it seems like he has other plans at the moment.
The striker is more than happy to find the back of the net when he does, but he has admitted to having other priorities at the moment, which could help him and the team on the whole.
Van Persie is quoted to have said: “I will try to break the record but it's not first on my wish list. It comes fourth or fifth, or something"
"For me I always want my basics right for what we have to do to win. If I can score it's good but I am not only going out on the pitch to score goals, I am going out there because I love football. I like to play and we want to win the game and get the three
points.”
The striker then revealed that in the upcoming games, he would be more than happy to pick up assists, along with scoring goals. He has admitted that he is not like the other selfish strikers out there and thinks about the team, before thinking about his
personal success.
"Hopefully I can add some assists or goals but I am not out there as maybe as some other strikers are, thinking of themselves. I am not like that and I never will be. We go out there in a different way and I prefer that. “
Arsenal have been playing with a high pace and tempo in recent weeks and should the team maintain that form in their game against QPR, Van Persie is more than likely to come awfully close to setting a new goal scoring record in the league.
